I Heart The Muppets

This picture is so important to me. I remember way back when I first started to really love Muppets. I think I Googled pictures of Jim Henson and this was one of the first I saw. It was the first time I saw a picture of someone working a live hand puppet, and how it worked. I also saw how they filmed certain Muppet scenes, high above the Muppeteers head so they don’t hafta awkwardly crouch.  I also saw how Jim and Frank and Richard didn’t look at Ernie and Bert, but the screens. It really gave me an idea of how everything worked in the Muppet Universe, and just a brief glimpse into one of the most important parts of my adult life (if you’d even call my life “adult”). But I just love what this picture shows, and its amazing how even though you see Jim, Frank, and Richard performing, you look at Ernie and Bert like you do when they’re on TV, as completely independently living beings.
